EOFA | *RESCHEDULED* Mike Mehak, CF: Shoeing the (OT)TB

If you’ve ever dealt with off the track thoroughbreds, you know they can be difficult to transition into their second career. From conformation to workload, management to budget, their lives change drastically after they leave the track.

Mike Mehak is going to walk us through his theory on how to manage these athletes. Mike made quite a transition himself: 10 years as a professional jockey to [AFA certified] farrier. The combination of these two lives has made him uniquely qualified to talk about the intricacies of the industry, how to shoe thoroughbreds in various jobs and how to manage their feet in all sorts of conditions.

Clinic begins at 3PM followed by a BBQ at 5PM with food provided by Tommy MacFarlane of Fall River Forge and beer by Ashton Brewing Company.
